• ENSURED CAMMING ACTION |
| |
When you load a DLCD, each cam is pulled individually by a flexible cable and forced to “open” until it makes contact with the rock. In addition, the load is always equalized on all the cams, so that effective camming action is ensured, even in flared or irregular cracks and pockets. |

• GREATER HOLDING POWER |
| |
The holding power of Totem Cams varies slightly depending on the opening of the cams and the loading angle.
When the opening of cams is greater than 60%, the holding power decreases as happens when the loading angle increases (this is possible in shallow horizontal placements). We have analyzed all the variables carefully and we have designed all Totem Cams to ensure that the SLCD equivalent cam angle is less than 14.1º even in the worst case.
In most placements, however, Totem Cams work with an SLCD equivalent cam angle of almost 12.85º, offering greater holding power. |

• SINGLE PAIR OF CAMS LOADING POSSIBLE |
| |
Clipping directly onto the cable that pulls on one pair of cams (see the drawing), the load will be applied only onto those cams, the other pair of cams remaining free. This can be very useful in shallow or flared cracks or in any tricky placement where one pair of cams contacts the rock better than the other.
Take into account that the strength of the device will be half of the rated strength. |

• NARROWEST HEAD IN SMALLER SIZES |
| |
When designing all Totem Cams, we sought to achieve the appropriate head width for each size. As no stem and no springs are mounted on the axle, in the smallest size it has been possible to create a four cam unit with the narrowest head ever seen. See Totem Cams specs. |

• BETTER PERFORMANCE IN DOWNWARD FLARED CRACKS |
| |
Downward flared cracks are always poor placements for a camming device. However, the maximum flaring angle where a camming device is able to grip is theoretically twice the cam angle. Therefore, the greater cam angle of Totem Cams (20.35º vs. 13.25º - 16º of traditional SLCD), provides a better performance in any downward flared crack (theoretical downward maximum flaring angle of 40.7º vs. 26.5º-32º of traditional SLCD). |

• OTHER FEATURES |
| |
- Very good flexibility
- Strong spring load: The necessary movement of the fingers to retract the cams fully is approximately the double than at traditional SLCD. This means that you can operate a double strength spring with the same fingers force.
- Less walking: As a combination of the good flexibility and the strong spring load.
- Very smooth action
- Easy handling
- Good expansion range: (1,64:1). |
